Secret Garden Gin Cocktail

Published on Mar 26, 2018

Perhaps it is the long winter and eagerly anticipated spring that moved me to create this new concoction inspired by the bounty of the garden. Lemon and ginger, cucumber and basil, birch water and elderflower, all come together to complement gin’s herbaceousness.  It’s like summer in a glass!

Muddle the first 4 ingredients together to release their aroma.  Add the rest of the ingredients and a handful of ice cubes.  Shake and serve in your favorite glass.  I thought a martini one looked great.  Add a few drops of birch bark bitters and decorate with any edible flowers.  I chose the borage flower which by the way tastes like cucumber.  Perfect match!
