Margarita Shots

Enjoy a new twist on the straight tequila shot.  The sweetness of orange liqueur and the tang of a lime are such a complement to the natural smokiness of tequila.  Although many people use the premade sour mix, I highly recommend using fresh lime juice.  You will notice the difference, trust me!  Dress up the rim of the glass the way you want it, salt or no salt; triple sec, Cointreau or Grand-Marnier, its all up to you.  You can even sub for funky sugars instead of salt.

Margarita Shots
  1. 1 oz Cointreau, triple sec or another orange liqueur
  2. 1/2 oz Lime juice freshly squeezed
  3. 1 1⁄2 oz Tequila (your choice)
  4. Salt and Agave (optional)
  1. Dip your chilled shot glass 1/4" in lime juice first, then in salt.
  2. Add the ingredients to a shaker filled with ice and shake.
  3. Strain into a shot glass.
  4. Garnish with a lime wheel.
  1. For a sweeter drink, add a dash of agave syrup before shaking.
