Bittersweet Love Pear & Thyme Cocktail

Published on Dec 7, 2017

As promised on my Instagram, here is a refreshing new cocktail with perfect pair flavors – peppery thyme and sweet pear.  Sure to warm up our chilling bones this winter.  This recipe is for those who love cocktails on a bittersweet side.  Of course, you can add a bit more simple syrup to make it sweeter.  This recipe takes a bit more time and effort simply because I recommend to make your own fresh pear juice, but I promise you it is well worth it! If that’s not possible, use any pear juice available in your supermarket.  Try to stay away from artificial flavors and check the label.  You want a taste of the real pear.  Remember you can always make things in advance, this way when your guests arrive you just mix things up and look like a pro.  Don’t forget the presentation, garnish it with a thyme sprig.

When choosing your pears; if you pick the ones that are very ripe (with visible dark spots) your juice will come out on a thicker puree side.  Greener, less ripen pears will produce clearer crispier juice.  Don’t forget the presentation, garnish it with a thyme sprig.
